Edythe Frankel Kelleher – Executive Director

Edythe started with SFDC in March 2013. She brings 17 years of experience working in local government, including serving on the Vienna Town Council and on the staff of Mason District Supervisor Penelope Gross. Edythe also serves on the Executive Committee of the Virginia Municipal League. Prior to her work in local government, Edythe was a property manager / analyst with Legum & Norman, a project administrator with ST Research Corporation, and an economist / statistician for the Bureau of Labor Statistics. She has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the George Washington University, and a Bachelors Degree in Economics and Social Sciences from the Johns Hopkins University. Alexis DeFrancisco – Marketing and Communication Specialist 

Alexis DeFrancisco started with SFDC in June 2019. She brings a combination of marketing and economic development experience to this position. During her time as a student at Virginia Tech, she was a Social Media Intern for Virginia Tech’s Division of Information Technology. Additionally, she spent two summers working with Spotsylvania County Government’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism, as their Economic Development and Tourism Intern. Agnès Artemel – Special Projects

Agnès Artemel, the president of Artemel and Associates since its founding in 1995, is returning to SFDC after previously filling multiple executive roles. She brings 30 years of experience in economic development, planning, public outreach, and revitalization, including as the founding Executive Director of the Eisenhower Partnership for the first five years of its existence. She is also a consultant for multiple public and private policymakers, developers, and community organizations, including the Alexandria Economic Development Partnership, Urban Land Institute, and as a member of the Alexandria Board of Zoning Appeals.
