The Mary Thonen Richmond Highway Beautification Awards recognize the local property owners and businesses that go above and beyond to make their properties–and, by extension, Richmond Highway–look beautiful. These folks spruce up their storefronts, take extra care of their flowers, plants, and shrubs, and even maintain public spaces in their immediate vicinity.
Every summer, members of SFDC’s MCAPT Committee hit the streets to take pictures of businesses and properties along the corridor. The committee then votes on which properties and businesses to recognize in three categories: 1) Residential, 2) Hospitality/Lodging and 3) Retail and Commercial.SFDC holds the Mary Thonen Awards at a new business or property along the corridor to celebrate and highlight that new establishment. This year the awards were held at the BRAND NEW Woodlawn Press Winery in the Cooper Center!
