This restaurant did not disappoint and is a staple Richmond Highway Corridor Restaurant. Mezcalero Chef Alfredo Solis and his sister Jessica, bring authentic cuisine and fresh flavors from Mexico City to this fantastic restaurant. They have 2 Mezcalero locations, one in Alexandria and the other in Washington, DC. They offer Happy Hour deals Monday through Friday from 3 PM to 6 PM. Additionally, they offer pickup and have an outdoor seating area.
Mezcalero has delicious street food offerings, including street tacos ranging from the incredibly affordable price of $3 to $4. SFDC favorites include the Fajitas “La Vaca” (Grilled Steak), Carnitas Street Taco, and the Campechano Street Tacos.

“The Solises had first envisioned Mezcalero as a small-plates emporium, but they changed the concept after talking to neighbors, who convinced the owners to create a restaurant closer in spirit to the original location of El Sol, which the siblings shuttered last year. “There’s not a lot of places you can go and have a meal, a good meal,” Alfredo Solis says of the neighborhood. “That’s why I changed it.”
