Richmond Highway Design Guidelines Pop-Up Studios

SFDC is pleased to be a co-sponsor of the Office of Community Revitalization’s Pop-Up Studios. As a part of 2018’s Embark Comprehensive Plan, this will be an opportunity for members of community to view and weigh in on various pedestrian streetscape designs for the project. This includes elements such as transit plaza designs, paving materials and furnishings, and other distinguishing elements for each Community Business Center. The proposed design guidelines are specific to the Richmond Highway corridor, and attempt to provide a common “sense of place” for those navigating up and down the corridor.  A key focal point in formulating the draft guidelines is defining the commonalities among as well as the differences between the six CBC’s that comprise the Richmond Highway corridor.  Participating community members will be asked to indicate their preferences on materials and colors.

The events will be held on Thursday, April 4 from 4pm to 7pm and Saturday, April 6 from 11am to 3pm in a storefront at Mount Vernon Plaza (between DTLR and PapaJohn’s). Members of the community are invited to “pop in” for approximately 20 minutes to view the drawings and share their thoughts. More information about the Design Guidelines, as well as a link to an online survey, can be found via the Office of Community Revitalization.
