SFDC received a presentation from Fairfax County’s Office of Community Revitalization on the progress of the Small Scale Production Initiative. The Initiative aims to facilitate the location of new types of businesses, focused on small “makers” such as craft breweries or woodworking shops, which reflect changes in the market. In December 2018, a zoning amendment was adopted for small scale production in commercial districts. The next steps include creating a Fairfax-Made Directory and establishing a Producers Network Group.
